Maxwell is a smart fridge the helps you eat well with less food wastage.
The Challenge
Australians discard up to 20% of the food they purchase and up to 40% of the average household bin is food waste. When food rots with other organics in landfill, it gives off a greenhouse gas called methane which is 25x more potentthan carbon pollution.
The Problem
How may we waste less food, save energy and be better the environment?
The Approach
After conducting research a journey map was created to uncover opportunities. Then wire frames were designed based on the feature set required so that the app acts as a dashboard.
The design was then made into a prototype in order to validate with user testing. Several iterations later the design was refined in order to fine tune the enhancements.

The Result
A clean UI that helps you track expiring food and recommends meals to cook based on those items. Notifications keeps you informed allow the user. Other features include a food tracker, meal ideas, a shopping list.
